Hello to everyone, i have a setup of 12v 500w system with mppt renogy controller. I purchased another panel, battery and a 24v inverter. My new setup will have 24v. I was wondering what is the best way to wire 6 x 100w panels. 3 panels in series with another 3 in series then parallel to the mppt. Or 3 panels in parallel with another 3 in parallel then tie them into series to the mppt controller. I have 2 155ah batteries , i receive about 40% of sun from 7-10 then 100% 11- 6pm. I use about 600w or 500w during sun peak hours . Any help will be appreciated thanks

we live off grid. we got ours wired 2 sets of 3 in series creating 53 volts total. theres a lot of different factors to take into consideration. for instance, distance from panels to cc, you'll want the higher voltage because of power drop, so a series setup would work best. problem is the mppt 40 amp cc can only handle 40 amps. so no matter how you hook it up you cant go over 40 amp total assuming you got the 40 amp cc.its been 15 months, we haven't had a problem. for us living off grid 24 volt set up is useless because you cant run nothing 12 volt,if you use 12 volt in your set up. everything would have to be ran off the inverter. which means youll be going from dc to ac back to dc which is a waste of power. another way would be 3 sets of 2 in a series.
