Running 4-100w monocrystailine Renogy panels, 40 amp mppt tracer Renogy controller and 4- vmax 125ah agm batteries. It's going to be appx. 80 ft from panels to controller using #8 wire. I have a 12 and 24 volt inverter so can use either.
1) 12 or 24 volt, series or parallel or both? 2) How would I wire the 4 batteries for 24 volt? 3) Can I still use the 110/12 volt converter that is in the rv? I will be running off of generator power some. 4) Will I need some sort of switch box to tie all this in to rv system and still be able to run generator some?
I'm trying to tie all this in as simple and neatly as possible without breaking the bank.

The 4- vmax 125ah agm batteries - are these the existing RV house batteries, or a separate battery bank you are trying to setup? Simplest is to have one RV house battery bank at 12 volts (can be 12v batteries or multiple 6v batteries wired series/parallel to make 12v). Connect the 12v inverter to the one house battery bank. You can retain the existing RV converter / battery charger - the solar controller and it will coexist. If you have a automatic transfer switch (shore/generator power) it will continue to operate normally, allowing selection of the generator when desired. If you are trying to setup the 4- vmax 125ah agm batteries as a separate battery bank it's a whole different design. And I don't know why one would want to implement the system this way, without additional information.
As for the PV panel wiring I would suggest two strings with two panels in each string. This will allow some shading mitigation, higher voltage for the MPPT controller to be more efficient, and reduce the loss on that long 80' wire run.
