30 amp wanderer controller and agm batteries

I bought the renogy 100 watt starter kit it came with the wanderer 30 amp controller, I since bought 2 agm type 100 ah batteries  plus another 100 watt 100-d panel and was told they should not go into an equalization charge. how can I use this controller without doing the EQ charge?  would I select gel battery if this controller supports gel/ since most gel contollers I have seen do not have equalization mode.
