Hello, I believe they suggested using a 30A fuse for each panel because they assumed each panel can output a max of 15 amps but our panels have a max output of 5.75 amps. Using a 25% oversize then another 25% if you will have a continuous load a 36 or 40 amp fuse will be needed.

I didn't put an individual fuse for each panel, I'm in parallel/series anyway, where I added the fuse was just before the controller, then again just before the battery. My controller is a 40 amp, so I use 35, why go higher, it can only do damage if you have a fuse higher than what your controller can handle, right?
