Hey all. I am a camera guy - I like to set 'em up and use them remotly. My dad wants an ip cam at his hunting blind, so I have the cam and the Internet but I need a power source. I was going to buy a 100w / 30a controller package, but I wanted to find out if I have to have a battery or if there is a way to hook my inverter direcly to the charge controller? The cam does not need to run after dark (can't see anything in the dark anyway). Thanks for the help.

Besides...what if the sun goes behind the clouds?

I guess. I was hoping to avoid the weight and hassle. I may start with a small 7ah UPS battey before I run out and get a full size deep cell.
I ordered my 100w/30a kit from Amazon. Suggestions on a full size battery?
Thanks for input!

Suggestions on a full size battery? Thanks for input! Personally, I use group size 24M batteries. I started with a Diehard M-2 and added a Duracell Ultra SLI24MDC in parallel later on. I'd think that just one should be fine for your application. For me, I'm running all the lights in my home office, charging various electronics (cell phone, tablet, rechargeable AA/AAA batteries) and various other things (fans in the summer, for example).
