Hi, I would like to build a solar system in my Sprinter van and I prefer to use less panels possible. I am wondering which one is better for charging 12V power bank - 3 panels 100W/12V or one panel 300W/24V. Which one will give me more power or it will be equal? Thank you.

Hello Plamen,
If you want to use the 300W (24V) panel to charge a 12V battery, you must use the MPPT charge controller.
Using one 300W panel or 3 100W panels on a MPPT charge controller will produce exactly the same amount of energy.
If you are set on using a PWM controller, then your only option is 3 100W panels wired in parallel to keep the voltage at 12V nominal.

Thank you for the fast response. I intend to use a MPPT controller and AGM deep charge batteries. The only thing I didn't decide yet, is mono or poly crystal panel to use. Due to the flat roof installation (not tilt) which type would you recommend?

Probably I will use it often in shaded places during the summer hot days, but the rest of the year I will try get maximum sunlight.
