Do I hook these upin Series or Parallel. I have 4 6 volt 225 amp batteries that will only be used for tv playstaion sound bar and charging phone and laptop etc

Depends! I'll assume you batteries are configured for 12v.
PWM controller and the 4 panels would be in parallel for 12v
MPPT controller and you have options of all parallel, combo or all series (controller specs may limit you (max input voltage limit)).

plan on 4 100 watt sunpower panels for marine use best to use series with a mmpt controller or parallel due to potential shading

What kind of boat, sail or motor - sail you will have a mast to help shade a panel once in a while, parallel works best for this scenario. Small boat large boat you may have items that tend to shade now and then as well for motor.
