Just installed remote temperature sensor on the Viewstar CC and SOC dropped from 90% to 40% with only 1, 60 watt led light on thur an inverter. Is this something I need to be concerned with, or wait till tomorrow?

SOC means NOTHING today, tomorrow, or a week from now..... Forget about it act like it isn't even there...
Now tell us more about your batteries and everything else...

Thanks for reply I have 6, 12 volt, 35 amp hr. Batteries in parallel. 2 , 12 volt 100 watt panels. In parallel. 30 amp Renology Viewstar PWM Charge controller with remote battery temperature sensor. This feeds a 12 volt 2000 watt (4000) surge Potex inverter. It is in my small cabin. Battery box outside. All seems to work well, just not sure why after hooking up remote temp the SOC dropped. The Inside temp 60 f. Out side 49 f. Thinking soc changed because of the temp reading change when I plug in the remote sensor? Guess I need a better understanding of State of charge and how it plays into the total system. Thanks

There is NO understanding SOC.... It's useless I don't even know why it's there... If you want to keep worrying about it have at it but it means NOTHING...
Can I ask why you have such small ah batteries??? Is it because of room??

Thanks. I will remove SOC from my OCD worry list. The batteries are small for ease of carrying. During the install it was only a sore old man getting it to the cabin (me).

LOL Man I totally understand.... I bet I'm around your age and I have 6 215ah batteries that I carried in my cabin and my solar system is upstairs.... They are only about 75lbs a piece... LOL I'm glad I don't have to do that everyday... LOL
