I have been using a 100 watt Renogy Eclipse 100 watt solar suitcase with attached 30A PWM controller connected via a SAE solar side plug that was installed on the tongue of my trailer. I purchased another 100 watt Renogy Eclipse Solar Suitcase without a controller which I plan to string in parallel to the other suitcase and controller to supply 200 watts.
In looking at the sideplug, it looks like they pigtailed 8-10 gauge wire to the roughly foot of the original sideplug 12 gauge wire to get to the + terminal of my 2x6 volt batteries connected serially.
I was going to put a 30A ANL fuse between the controller and battery since it is a 30A controller but wonder if I should switch to a 20A ANL fuse due to the foot of 12 gauge wire or could I cut the original wiring leaving about 2-3 inches of 12 gauge and use the 30A fuse??
I'm planning on expanding my system by adding a permanently mounted system but can't get the installation done by the installer until mid June.

I'd fuse for wire size, your wire size is 12g so fuse for 12g.
