this is a list of junk parts needed to setup a off-grid system. display shelf from local store, I needed the 1/4 20 allen head screws that held the shelves in place. battery charger clamps. trailer house floor joists, I cut the 2x8's in half and made them into 2x4's for the renogy solar panel rotating array. rv 30 amp 8-3 wire casing, used that to help protect the renogy wiring from solar panels to connection box. set of jumper cables. 1 1/2 pipe 2 inch pipe, used one inside the other and put it in the ground. that's what the renogy solar panels spin on. dryer electrical connection block. used that to hook the renogy wiring from the solar panels to main feeder line which is connected to the renogy mppt cc. snow plow cables, they already had the right terminals on them. multiple vehicle battery cables. jaccuzzi lid, used the aluminum frame for a buss bar. lawn mower battery connections. welding cables. multiple converters push button breakers. glass tube fuse blocks. 3/8's copper tubing. computer tower fan. adjustable fan temp controller from household furnace. led trailer lights(used as a night light). telephone stake, the ones they put in your yard to make the phone line connections. bed frame to make the solar panel mounting brackets. 1000 watt inverter. 2 fuse panels. 3 car batteries.
so this is how it all works starting from the rotating solar panel array. the power goes into a outdoor electrical connection box which has the dryer connector inside that is mounted on the phone stake. 80 feet of 10-2 wire is connected to that, which that goes into the charge controller. from the charge controller, the power goes out to the aluminum buss bar. all 12 volt feeds are connected to the buss bars. the computer fan and temp controller are used in electrical hut to keep things cool. one battery is connected using just battery charger clamps. I did it this way so I could easily grab the battery and have power where ever it is needed. the biggest expense was what we bought from renogy. which was about $700.00. we did buy one walmart deep cycle marine battery for $100.00 everything else was pretty much free including free electric for the rest of my life.
thanks renogy.
