Can anyone from Renogy, or any of the visitors here tell me if the 'electricals' that are inside the small black box on the back of the solar panels are subject to damage from an EMP impulse? If they are susceptible, what are any recommendations as to how to protect the insides without creating a heat 'issue' with the box?

Hello, The junction box will get damaged from an EMP. We currently do not have any recommendations to protect against this.

Several very credible sources I've heard/read say that EMPs are one of the most likely threats the US faces. Are there replacement parts, etc. that owners of Renogy equipment might be informed about so that we could repair our systems in the event of an EMP?

It will happen one of these days. I prepare myself by keeping up to date on Solar Storms, anything else, do what you can. But for solar storms if I know it is coming, a known large one (which was only one I think two or three years ago) I will cover my panels just to shut them down, even if it's for a few days. Other than that, and I've kept up with this, nothing yet, can be be done.
Here is a map of it's intensity for this weekend. www.businessinsider.com/solar-storm-risk-map-united-states-2016-9
I'm not worried about this one, but for those in the "hit area" I feel will be OK, but you just never know.
