I'm knee deep in a utility trailer conversion to be able to haul mountain bikes and my roof top tent. The trailer has a storage area across the front which i'm going to mount 2 solar panels to on a tile mount setup. With the length/width that's available I went with a 100 and a 50 watt panel. Initially i was going to use the two panels and charge my Goal Zero Yeti 400 (using necessary adapters) and then from there I have a Deep Cycle battery chained on. The Deep Cycle battery is used mainly to power an Igloo Iceless cooler. And the Yeti supplies power for led lights in the roof top tent and electronic's charging. Future plan was to change over and use a real controller and a couple 6v batteries but I have to be careful due to weight distribution on the trailer and tongue weight. Should i just go directly to the controller setup and the 6v batteries and just plug the Yeti in whenever i need to top it off? Here is a pic of the trailer as it sits - just about finished with the front storage area and just need to get access doors made and then seal up the compartment. Thanks for any thoughts or other ideas. Ed

Why spend extra money for something you PLAN on changing in the near future? I mean if it was something you were to add that would be different, but this is something you plan on changing anyway.
