We have a CTEK 250S connected to our second battery which currently powers our fridge. We need to add a solar panel for times when we do not drive much.
The panel needs to be as small and as light as possible but still provide adequate power.
I have been looking at 2 50W panels that could be connected to form a "suitcase". However it appears not all 50 W panels are created equally. I have seen a vast difference in size ranging from 12X16, 16X16 to 21X24 for 50 W panels. Can someone please explain reason for the different sizes? Are there more cells to the panel perhaps?
I would need the connectors to connect the panels and the wiring which goes to the CTEK 250S. I understand from research that a controller would not be require as the CTEK 250S is the controller.
I would appreciate your input.
Thanks!
Jenny

solar panels made from different materials have different efficiency so to achieve the same 50 watt rating they would need to be different size.
