Regarding the connectors that are needed to connect to the PV panel - when I assemble the wire to the thin metal connector part, do I crimp the connector to the wire and call it good? Or should I solder it to the thin metal connector part? If soldered, will any lumps or irregularity of solder cause problems? Is there any pros or cons to doing one way or the other? Recommendations please. . .

Crimping would be fine. Making a soldered connection would make sure the connection is more secure. As long as the lumpage is not excessive and its a clean solder there should be no issue. -A.L.

Through personal experience, if you do not have a "correct" crimp, you can lose your connection, or even get a hot connection by it being improperly crimped. I've seen this way too much.
