Hi folks I have a 100 amp kit that I use to power some 12 lighting in an off the grid cabin. Today I wired the lights directly into the charge controller in the right spot with the right polarity and they wouldn't work. Disconnected and touched the battery and voila! There was light. Tried connecting to the charge controller again no luck. Wondering if I need to set the controller to 16? It's the basic controller I should have took the model number but didn't. Total load is about 6 amps of all the lights are switched on and I have an inline 7.5amp fuse for the lights. Manual said maybe wait 10 minutes for it to cycle but didn't have a chance to try that. Thanks!!!

yes, if you are going to use the load control terminal of a charge controller you need to 'program' it. If '16' is on all the time and that is what you want then go with '16'.

I have the same problem with my MPPT 20A controller. When I attach a 12V load to load control of charge controller I get nothing. Setting 16 doesn't work, nor do any others. Can anyone help?

try 17 (or whatever you manual suggests)and use the button to turn on and off all other are for night time operation.
4. Manual Mode (T1:#17) Manual mode eliminates any timer functions and leaves load control to the discretion of the user. Once manual mode is set, simply use the orange set button to click the load on or off indefinitely. NOTE: Only Timer 1 can be set to Manual Mode. As a result, Timer 2 will be disabled when Timer 1 is set to Manual Mode.
probe the load terminal with a volt meter to determine if operational.
