I have the new Eclipse 100 Watt suitcase with the Adventure charge controller. Is it possible to use extension cabling with the remote temperature and battery voltage sensor wiring without increasing error beyond acceptable levels? If so, are there specific wire gages necessary? Also, does the remote temperature sensor require the extension be made from thermocouple wire to avoid any non-real temperature delta due to dissimilar materials at the junctions (if so, what type - J, K, T, etc.)?
Thanks, Marc

There should little to no current over the temp senor wires or the batt voltage wires so they should be able to be extended without any issue.

Here's what morning star has to say of RTS EXTENDING CABLE LENGTH If the battery is located more than 10 meters (33 ft) from the controller, the RTS cable length can be extended up to 30 meters (100 ft.). It is recommended that the original remote sensor cable be cut and the new cable soldered into the middle. Solder the spliced wire connections and tape or seal the bare wires. The new cable extension should be a shielded, twisted pair cable. The new wires should be at least 0.34 mm2 (22 AWG), and a larger size 1.0 mm2 (18 AWG) is recommended for best performance. www.morningstarcorp.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/RTS.IOM_.Install_sheet.07.EN_.pdf

ON MY 1987 MOTOR HOME I INSTALLED THE 100 WATT SOLAR PANEL WITH THE WANDER CONTROLLER. IT HAS A PLACE FOR A BATTERY TEMPERATURE CABLE. I BOUGHT THE CABLE, BUT WHERE OR HOW DO I HOOK IT TO MY BATTERY? I DON'T THINK I AM DUMB, BUT THIS ONE STUMPS ME. HELP

Use duct tape, the Gorilla Tape which is not heat sensitive like grey duct tape is & slip slides around or falls off in the heat. Tape the cylindrical probe at end of wire onto the center top of your battery. Once there, it will monitor your battery temperature and the charge controller will take care of the rest. Mine has stayed on very well in desert heat. CC works as it should. Hope this helps.

Hi...i am a new user here. As per my knowledge the original remote sensor cable be cut and the new cable soldered into the middle. Solder the spliced wire connections and tape or seal the bare wires and the new cable extension should be a shielded, twisted pair cable. pcb assembly supplier
