Don't get me wrong there is loads of info out there on solar but it just gets your toes wet..
I looked for weeks about solar info before I bought my system.. I thought I was buying what I needed by what I had read and watched for my needs.. Boy was I wrong.
I've been wondering? So many questions on here not just mine don't get answered and I was wondering why?? I think this forum is run by Renogy am I right?? If it is why wouldn't Renogy answer questions on here too?? That way the answer to questions are easy to find for everyone instead of calling Renogy tech help which is great. When tech answers my question the only people that know the answer is me and tech that seems like a waste of information to me... It's like Solar power is a secret?? At least it seems that way to me....
I think Renogy is missing out on sales.. But what do I know I'm still trying to learn this stuff... Like many on here are..

I've been wondering? So many questions on here not just mine don't get answered and I was wondering why?? I think this forum is run by Renogy am I right?? If it is why wouldn't Renogy answer questions on here too?? (Caveat) I am not a Renogy employee. The following is my opinion and does not necessarily reflect that of Renogy or its employees.) Renogy does run these forums and does answer some of the questions asked here. But moderating a forum takes a lot of time and effort. Plus, just because you sell a products does not necessarily make you an expert in every possible application for that product. Accordingly, These forums are primarily a way for people needing/wanting advice on Renogy products (or solar products/projects in general) to ask questions and get advice. They are also a venue for people with some experience to share that with others, get new ideas, and so on. The forums also probably provide a bit of a "pressure relief valve" for Renogy's tech support staff. Rather than having to handle commonly asked questions on the phone, the answers can often be found right here on the forums. Finally, some might say that end users of a product may offer superior "where the tire meets the road" answers to questions as compared to a company's tech support staff who mostly speak to their product's functionality from a manufacturer/vendor point of view.

Yep you have a very good point and that's what I'm trying to say.. I asked questions here before I called.. Most of what I needed to know I figured it was asked before but after doing some searching I didn't find the answer so I asked... and then I called several times..
Like you I think if the most answered questions were on here people wouldn't have to call tech??? But they might want people to call? I don't know??

You can also say, so many don't even use the search button, not saying you don't. But I know for a fact and answered a lot of questions that get repeated over and over. Moderating is truely a heavy job and time comsuming, I do know that many anwers from Renogy, come usually in the morning or late afternoon, even they have to work sometime. Patience is important in any forum. I try to look over questions, and there are a lot of great answers being given by the general population, as well as Renogy. If you don't get an answer, move your question back to the top. Oh, if you call Renogy and get an answer, your right, they are not going to come back to the forum and submit an answer, but you can. I usually encourage people to come back with the answer to their question if they get one, it's important to all as well as the submitter.

I always search for my question before I ask it on any forum.. But many times forums search functions are junk.. This one works very well but there really isn't that much info here.. Hence the reason for my original question..
I did come back and give the answer to my question and that I found my problem... This forum is very small and would be no trouble to monitor... But I guess people have other more important priorities I guess...
Thanks for the responses..

Well, I have to agree with you, I also went all over the internet to find the answers I needed and was satisfied with. But this is relatively a small forum, so the more we add to it, the more knowledge base it will obtain. For most, they come to the forum with a quick question, then if they don't get a fast answer they are off to another place, or they call, and never put down what they learned. If we want to have a good knowledge base, we need to start it and keep adding to it. And, your right, the adminstrators, have other jobs, and they don't necessarily take their work home, you can tell by the day and time stamp, as other moderators end up doing in other fourms. It is what it is, and again, we make it.
But, don't put all your chickens in one basket. Or something like that

Renogy does run these forums and does answer some of the questions asked here. But moderating a forum takes a lot of time and effort. LOL After thinking about the above I had to respond.. I've seen faster snails than this forum goes.. A moderator could look once a day and answer every question that has been asked if any were asked at all... I think the reason this forum isn't any better is because many questions don't get answered and I guess people think why bother asking at all.. There is a lot of good info here and several of the questions on here that weren't answered are some of what I wanted answers too.. Thanks to all that answered my questions that has been a lot of help.... I asked a question above with no responses... Is there is any other forums about Solar energy? I can't find any so far...

Solar is magical, especially PWM or directly connect to a load, IV & power curves! how a panel matches a load. I found this three part-er once and enjoyed it, 20 watt panel & 20 watt light bulb - bad match.www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZQEJ33xblErv.net likes discussing various controllers, some are very misleading here's fraud www.youtube.com/watch?v=la-gvy0DfJsand that video includes an oscilloscope! Many a popup trailer owner have bought the suitcase model Renogy sells, it once had a programmable ViewStar which I own (not the suitcase) and is why I fist stopped off here asking about connection order since that seems important with controllers, apparently not some controllers. Renogy suitcase is not my choice but folks want plug and play
