I currently have (2) 100w Renogy mono panels on my camp trailer and am looking to see if I can add a 150w panel without replacing the controller. I intend to keep them wired parallel... Controller is an HQST 20a mppt. (2) 6v golf cart batteries ....... Thanks in advance...

No you will need to go to a bigger charge controller.. You are right at it's limits.. I would go as big as you can afford just in case you want to bigger later..

Thanks tattoo, I kind of assumed I was until I seen on Amazon a 400w 20a mppt kit by Eco-worthy. One of the reviews stated keeping it wired parallel...

Well I guess I was wrong he can add one more panel... I guess different CC are different than other CC... eco-worthy catalog is even easier to understand... Thanks rabird

I guess different CC are different than other CC... finding published spec is prob the best way to go. Some CC allow over powering and just limit input if the panels EVER produce more than rated CC amps! So ya take the CC rating say 20A and multiple by .8 a common factor used as panels can produce more when cold and some lighting conditions like edge effect! So now we are @ 16A. From there one can use the panels Isc (they vary, ie all 100 watt panel's Isc are not the same). Assume an Isc of 6A for 100 watt panel. 16A/6A = 2.66 panels or 266 watts! In the real world will a 100 watt panel ever 'make' its Isc or 125% Isc? dirty panel, tilt, heat etc. 20A/6A = 3.33 panels or 333 watts.

^^^^^ I guess I was looking at my Renogy CC is 40a and I can only use 4 panels?? ^^^^ So the way I looked at it is 10a CC per panel but they are not all alike...
