Have used Renogy panels in the past but they've always been positioned either directly face up or in a dry location and have never had any trouble. I am now looking at a situation where the back side of the panels will be getting rained on occassionally... is the wire "junction box" (probably better term for it) on the back of these panels waterproof or am I going to have to work on a plan to make the backside of the panels more waterproof / water resistant?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks... IP65 ought to do it I think, mostly be rain and occasional splash of water, no hard core spray or submersion.

The short answer is the panel will last a lot longer if you leave it undisturbed.
I have a plastic panel with the box on top. In my case, I use it for camping, so it gets moved around a lot. Eventually, the wires frayed off at the box. I had to open the box to reconnect the wires, but when I did, I must not have closed the box very well, because the panel stopped working shortly after that, and I was told water damages them.

*Water damages the diodes inside the box.
