Camper Is Used On Weekends Friday Night-Sunday Afternoon Except Holiday Weekends. I never draw batteries lower than 12.1v. Camper phantom amps draw is approx. <2.0 amps with refrigerator running (propane). I have a 200ah AGM Battery bank. I can go approx. 6 days before having to run over to charge batteries on non camping (bad weather) weekends by generator. My question is what solar panel kit would you recommend for non use time to keep batteries fully charged? Non use could be up to 14+ days. actual sunlight hours are 8+hrs. Camping time I'm not worried about solar charging as I can use the generator. TY
I'd like the lowest cost but the biggest bang for my buck! I'm Totally boon docking, Dry Camping, off grid etc. but not depending on solar.

To keep a battery fully charged after it is fully charged via utility power of many hours would not require much solar. 2 weeks of non use with the battery disconnected should not be a problem. a 100 watt 'kit' should provide ~20ah a day with an average solar irradance of '4' ie a 100 watt panel can be considered a ~5A panel and with 4000 wh/m^2/day would yield 20ah. this calculator can help determine the amount of sun for any location, time of year, angle of panels. Choose facing south! www.solarelectricityhandbook.com/solar-irradiance.html If you are using 1/2 of a 200ah battery in 6 days, I'd suggest you are using ~17 ah/day. this kit would work, don't know if ya want portable, mounts, etc. www.renogy.com/renogy-100w-12v/starter-kit/Note: it is unlikely generator charging is FULLY recharging, just not enough time and likely not enough amps or voltage from the charger. AGMs also like temp compensated voltage charging which most solar controller do. Battery makers have charging specs for their batteries.

That kit rabird suggests, is plenty as you laid out. But I might ask what about future? Even a bit more, kids playing music, TV starts to come into the picture or even just movies from a DVD, then you might need more.

Man it's great to hear someone else finally saying what wish had been said before I bought my set up and what I've started saying as of late.... Thank you...

We've all done it. I started with 200w then uped to 400w and after a few times out, it wasn't enough. I now have 600w. My wife goes to sleep with the TV on, I'm not going to tell her she can't do that LOL. I use tools during the day for wood working. It's relaxing to work with wood while your in the middle of the desert. Wow! Solar opened so much up to me.
Forgot, yes I have a diesel generator, but I rarely use it, unless we have lots of cloudy days, but not likely here

I've been using saws, vacuum, during the day and my 1930s fridge running 24/7.. It works better than I had ever hoped...

On a renogy 400 watt system I'm going to wire on the roof of my RV, should it be in series or Paralell

You can build your own electronic drum set! It's easy, fun, and you will save hundreds of dollars. Do-it-yourselfers have been building their own electronic drum sets for decades with great results. You truly can replicate a kit that would cost $1000 for around $200. Building your own cheap electronic drum set is very rewarding and satisfying.

If so tell us how it's done?
