i probably posted this on the wrong thread earlier so I wanted to post in the correct place.
I just purchased a solar kit from Renogy that included a Wanderer 12V 30A charge controller. My application if to run a 12V pump to pump water from my rain barrels to water flowers, hanging baskets, and a vegetable garden. I need to install my charge controller outdoors. Can I install it in a weather proof electric box? If so is 6" of clearance enough for ventilation?

I have two, Renogy 250W panels, &, two Tracer 4210 charger controllers. One panel could be subject to shading. Can I wire each controller separately to the same bank of 4 batteries? Or, do I wire them in parallel first & then to the battery bank?

I'm new to solar so not familiar with how much heat is generated by a charge controller. Are there any suggestions on how to install/protect in the outdoors?

I would think you should have at least 3 feet around it, that's each side. Also if you were to up grade to an inverter later you will be set.. You need to think ahead because it's going to work much better than you think... Mine sure has...

I do have a building but it's probably 30' away and has a brick exterior. I was trying to utilize the cables that I bought in a kit and they won't reach. Was just wanting a simple install to see how well it works and then maybe a more permenent installation. I don't want to set something up that is going fail either.

I would think if you want to just hook it up to see how it will work should be fine... But I wouldn't leave it that way through the summer heat...

I doubt a wanderer makes much heat.
I mounted my PWM to a 1x6 ~5' long. It resides in a single car garage with the battery, I'm guessing it gets near 130F in the summer in the garage here in N TX.

That doesn't answer his question... neither does this Working Temperature: -20°F - 113°F Storage Temperature: -31°F - 176°F

What is a remote Battery voltage sensor wire and how do I install it please. The instructions show where to plug it in on the adventurer 30a pwm but not where the bare wire ends go
