I have the Renogy 100 Watt 12 Volt Solar Starter Kit w/ MPPT Charge Controller installed in my 5th wheel camper. I will also run a gasoline generator at times. Is there any need to do something in this situation - such as unplug the solar panel? This has come up on an RV forum, and I also asked via the Renogy contact but no response yet.

stanley there is no issue. leave the panel/CC/batt connected all the time. The vehicle charge line, generator/utility power/converter charger or any other charging can be done at the same time as solar.
if you have a some sort of cut off switch to disconnect the batt from the trailer, it should not disconnect solar.

Hey rabird, do you represent Renogy or are you simply knowledgeable and wanting to help?

I came here to get a answer about connection order for fellow pop up campers using renogy suitcase 'kits'.
Intrigued with solar and learned much via rv.net 'tech issues' forum, also you tube and just reading controller manuals.

Hey rabird, do you represent Renogy or are you simply knowledgeable and wanting to help? Don't expect to get a lot of help from Renogy on here. Rabird and a few of us try and help all we can... Solar power is a secret for some reason. They sell parts but they don't know much about it. I called Renogy about my system and told them what I was going to run 24/7 and they told me I needed 19 solar panels....LOL I've got it running great with 4 panels....

I haven't had great communication with Renogy. That's why I was curious. I appreciate you guys who take an interest and seem to always be available.
