I am installing a 100amp system using the renogy 100 amp panel and 30w controller. Since the controller has no digital readout I want to add a volt/amp meter. Could you please tell me the proper placement in the line for the installation.

One method is to install a shunt at the batt negative that measures amps - what goes in and out of the battery. There can be solar power that goes to a load (also connected to the shunt) and does not go into the batt! It depends on what you want to measure. As for voltage, batt voltage is what I'd want to know.
