I have a 100w panel on our 18' camper. It is stored inside for the winter. Have placed a small tarp over the panel to keep the dust off it. Do I need to do anything with the controller to turn off the electronics? thanks.

Do I need to do anything with the controller to turn off the electronics? thanks. Probably not. But It depends. Are the batteries still connected to the controller? If so, then there might be a SLIGHT drain over the winter from the LED. But it will be VERY minimal. When in doubt, disconnect them. If you have a load connected to the load terminals on the controller, make sure it's turned off (or disconnected)...especially if you have it set to go on and off according to sunrise and sunset. With the tarp over the solar panel, it's always nighttime as far as the controller is concerned. <grin> Of course, this is moot if you decide to disconnect the batteries.

To be on the save side, I would disconnect the charge controller from the batteries and then hook up a charge maintainer once a month on the battery for a day.

I forgot the mention. The camper is plugged into shore power while in storage. This should allow the on board 110/12V power converter to keep the batteries up. The controller shouldn't really have much to do for the winter.
