Is the RS232 port on the rover MPPT controller a standard 3-wire RS232 port?
With the appropriate cable, can it be connected to a RS232 port on a computer?
This may seem like an odd question, but if this is possible the wireless serial communication over Bluetooth or packet radio should be possible.

I installed the solar panel and the MPPT controller in the garden away from the house, because I do not have power there. i would like to monitor the controller from my computer in the house. This is one possible solution: www.usconverters.com/blutronium Please give some information about the RS232 port.

www.srnesolar.com/index/down/id/87.html (.docx from SRNE Solar) Supporting standard Modbus protocol that meets communication needs on different occasions. TX/RX/GND/GND/+/+ Bluetooth is built in to one of my controllers, the other I used a RS to USB to connect to computer software. Some controller makers have dongles that plug in!
