I have a 100w starter kit that is not charging. I don't know what battery to choose, all 3 choices yield negative results. Wiring connected propperly. Any help or direction would be appreciated!

ideally you'd match the batty type with what ya got, what ya got for a battery?
It should not make much difference, the charge profile for the different types of battery are similar, with in a .5v or so of each other, one may not do a monthly equalization charge.
When ya hook the batt to the controller does it power on? When you then add the panels what does it not do?

Hi rabird, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, been crazy busy. I have a new deep cell marine/RV battery and it was fully charged when we left for camping and when we got to the campsite which was off grid.
The first day and a half the panel was not connected so the battery, at that point, had been drained quite a bit (overused by first timers). When I first hooked it up the PV was a slow flashing green, battery green and the third one red. After a while no change in PV but the battery light was red. The meter in the trailer was showing the battery level was low as well. Eventually there was no battery light as it died but it would come back for a short time hooked up to the car.
My confusion was the 3 choices for the battery, green, yellow or red and the small (very) book of instructions did not address that at all, only how to change battery types. Hence my original question.
My guess is, if choice does not matter, the panel will not bring back a battery any time soon. Just wondering.
Thanks again.

first, use whatever means to charge the battery!!! they don't like to sit around uncharged. once charge try solar again! you can get a manual online assume wanderer www.renogy.com/template/files/Manuals/Renogy-Wanderer-30A-PWM-Solar-Charge-Controller-Manual.pdfnote page 15, the different charging parameters for different battery types. I'll assume yours is FLOODED (red), that would the correct setting Voltmeter is nice to have, I don't want to discharge a flooded battery below 12.0v,

Are you able to see the voltage of the battery? What's the voltage of the battery when it is not charging? Battery voltage when charging? Solar Panel voltage when charging? I'm not familiar with the charger that you have, but the above questions will tell what's going on. Wayne Sallee Wayne@WayneSallee.com www.WayneSallee.com
