I have the Renogy 100 Watt 12 Volt Solar Starter Kit w/ 20 Amp MPPT Rover Charge Controller hooked up to a single 12V deep cell Battery installed in a small van that I am converting into a camper. I’m powering most things (small refrigerator, fan, LED lights etc) with the LOAD output on the Rover so I can monitor amp draw etc on the Rover display screen. With everything on the LOAD circuit running, on full, at the same time, I’m only drawing around 10 Amps, well under the 20A max. I also want to utilize a standard RV Converter (Progressive Dynamics PD 4100) when I am plugged into a campsite. The PD 4100 has the typical setup with a multi stage battery charger as well as AC breakers and DC fuses in the power distribution section. Two questions… first question about the Rover Do I need to put a fuse in the Rover LOAD circuit wiring? Like an inline fuse?? Or is the LOAD circuit protected internally … in the Rover ?? and 2nd question about the additional power source Will I damage the Rover when I plug into a campsite electric box… in other words both the Rover and the PD 4100 Converter are connected to the battery.. do I need to isolate these two power sources? Thank you Fritz

fuse 'recommended'
multiple battery charging sources, no problem, not only can you have solar & converter at the same time you can also have the vehicle alternator also charging or charging while driving. You'd disconnect alternator charging when the engine is off so your start battery doesn't drain.
