HI there, newb to all of this, started with a 50 w kit, now ready to ramp up.
Looking to get the new Rover 20 or 30 amp MPPT CC, but have a few questions
1 - will the Rover protected my battery , in other words can i set it to say cut power from the battery if it drops below 11.7v or about 50% so save the battery? ( my test set up was with the 10amp PWM and i ran an inverter, timer and some led lights outside my shed. Didnt realized how much draw the inverter and timer drew all night and suspect it went well below 11.7, so most likely damaged the battery. Seems like a simple feature to include since from day one of ready , you NEVER go below 50% on a led battery ?) so can i set a cut off voltage or is this thing just so smart it knows on its own and does that for you ?
2 - description for Rover says "Compatible with multiple battery types (Gel,Sealed,Flooded and Lithium)"
I've read all kinds of pros and cons about the 18650 lithium batteries in a bank, so just curious if the Renogy will maintain and keep those little 18650 LI batteries happy and in check so they work? Or is there a different lithium battery it will work with ?

First off you should never hook up anything to your system as a draw until your batteries are at 100% for at least a day..... I personally don't like lithium batteries... But it's your choice...... Also you should never go below 12.1 on your batteries it really shortens the life of them... You will need to keep an eye on your system for a few days to make sure everything is working fine.... Don't just set it and forget it..... You will be glad you did....
I'm sure Bird will chime in soon on the rest of your questions...
By the way get a 30amp CC to start with you will be glad you did in the long run... I started with a 40 and wish now I had bought a 60.......

ohnnyhavana, look at the Rover 40, the load terminals are only good for 20A, see page 10, page 22 www.renogy.com/template/files/Manuals/RNG-CTRL-RVR2040_V1.0.pdf20A @ 12v is only 200 watt, that's why the warning on page 10. also note if you do use the load terminals that the low voltage disconnect (this is for the load terminals) is adjustable from 9-17v page 23 suggest that some program feature can not be adjusted without a computer connection!!! as for lithium, don't big lithium come with a battery management system?
