Has anyone connected 2 Rover 40 MPPT controllers to the same computer using the software from Renogy. I have 2 400 watt systems, each with its own controller connected to 4 golf cart batteries, 2 batteries in series. The charge controllers are Rover 40 MPPT and TrakMax 40. They dont seem to play together well. I am planning on replacing the TrakMax with an idenitical Rover. The Rover does all the charging while the TrakMax says the batteries are full all the time.
Suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you thought about upgrading to a 24V system? You could put your whole load on a single Rover with a 24V setup.
And while I haven't connected two to the same computer, it should be fine since they'll each be assigned a unique COM port #.

Yes I had considered converting my system to 24 volts, however I have 6 12v blowers that I use to heat my house, (Solar Air Heaters). I also use this system to power all the lights, ceiling fans, and televisions in my 1000 sq ft house.
I wish I had started with 24v rather than 12v. I suppose I will eventually get a 24 volt sine wave inverter and convert my 12v blowers to something that's 110v AC.

Granted 24v works a little better you have to change more...

Installed my second Rover 40 MPPT controller and the software supplied works fine. You can monitor 2 controllers from your computer.
May have a problem with the new controller. At night the original one say 12.7 volts. The new one says 11.4. I have 400 watts at 12v going into each controller. Both controllers feed the same battery bank. 12V 386AH, new batteries.
Emailed tech support for suggestions, or from anyone on the board.

You do know you can run 8 100w panels with just one 40a CC.. Now that is with my old Renogy 40a CC I don't know about a rover CC...

rixhard, use a volt meter to confirm which is correct 12.7 or 11.4 or something else.

Yes I used a multi-meter and the 12.7 was right. However I just gotten the new unit and installed it ASAP. It felt like ice. Today the unit is identical to the old one in all the reading. Maybe it needed to warm up. Anyway problem solved. Thanks!
