I have recently purchased Renogy's 100 watt bendable solar panel that looks like a sheet of plexiglass. I am looking to Glue, tape or otherwise adhere it to the roof of my RV without making screw holes. Is there an adhesive that is recommended for this that is both secure enough and compatible with EPDM rubber RV roofs? I know there are some very strong long lasting adhesives out there, im just concerned with the compatibility with the rubber roof. (if only it was fiberglass

Hello Rich,
I am not familiar with adhesives compatible with rubber rooves. I can only speak to what some of our other RV customers have done to mount their panels to their rooves without making screw holes. Some of our customers simply use silicon adhesive while some others use industrial grade velcro. I don't see why velcro would not work on a rubber roof, but I would recommend looking into a silicon adhesive that would be compatible with your rubber roof.

I think it might heat up your rv if you don't have some ventilation underneath it. watched a video last night where the guy had it on his grass and it cooked the grass.

Hello jugglz,
If you are concerned about heat, I would recommend doing a test like in the video to determine how hot the panel will get, and if your roof will withstand the heat before permanently attaching the panel.

Hello Rich I too, am going to be installing the Flex Panels onto the roof of my Class C. I am going with four of the 100W panels and laying them out in two pairs on the roof. I have researched many methods of installation and panels themselves before selecting the Renlogy's. I am 99% sure that I am going to use EternaBond RSW-2-50 White Roof Seal Tape. There is another RV'r that used it for adhering his wiring onto a rubber roof and it convinced me of an appropriate approach. www.loveyourrv.com/installing-renogy-200w-solar-kit-rv/www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=as_li_qf_sp_sr_il_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=aps&keywords=eternabond&linkCode=as2&tag=lo02f-20&linkId=VUBPJIXMS7UYDI6JI am going to cover all edges of the panels including the holes with the tape. This approach should keep water and debris out from under the panels. Should I ever need to remove a panel, careful use of a knife should work As far as heat, there are other panel mfg'rs that apply an adhesive to the panels as supplied. Still others have applied thier panels with dicor sealant all around the edges.I am not worried about heat
