Isn't there more than one app?? Bird would know way more but I'm sure he will need to know what CC you have... I doubt that a 60a and a 20a would be the same app...

Say it snows...panels get covered for a few days with said snow. The temp drops to -5f at night and you batteries freeze...is there any saving them? The panels or the batteries?? I doubt it would hurt either one...

You will get them to run right one day... LOL I don't know why you need an app to run a string of lights......

couldn't FULLY charge! could not respond to simple questions in this ole thread, trial and error found extra batts not the answer to how many more batts! Oct 25, 2017 13:36:22 GMT -6 tattoo said: The answer to my question (how many more batteries) is NONE... The 4 6v batteries that I had to start with, with the 5 100w panels and a 40a CC... For it to work correctly... When I added the 2 additional batteries the 5 100w panels I had they weren't enough to keep them charged fully with the power I was using 24/7.. So I added 3 more panels for a total of 8 100w.. Now it's working perfectly with my 40a CC from Renogy..... Sometimes you need to take a day and read all you can about solar yourself..... I posted the above to help people to understand how more power works, sometimes it doesn't... I know and remember what I said and what I went through before I got where I am now... What I had to finally do was take a week to read and really understand solar rather than keep reading your stupid graphs and equations.... Which you have backed way off from... What is the above reference to?? Does it have to do with what I started with in solar? If so yes I got bigger and then I got bigger after that...But what I bought to start with worked great until I wanted more power... See Bird I need to run more than a string of lights on my walkway to my fancy house like you... By the way, Remember you telling me I couldn't add the extra panels?? You were wrong...

Yes I had considered converting my system to 24 volts, however I have 6 12v blowers that I use to heat my house, (Solar Air Heaters). I also use this system to power all the lights, ceiling fans, and televisions in my 1000 sq ft house. I wish I had started with 24v rather than 12v. I suppose I will eventually get a 24 volt sine wave inverter and convert my 12v blowers to something that's 110v AC. 110v works just fine with 12v... Granted 24v works a little better you have to change more...

Yep if your batteries are fully charged it will be floating and flashing fast. With 4 100w panels you will charge the two batteries quick... What are your plans to run off of your system?
12.7 is fully charged with no draw or charging.. Be sure and buy a Hydrometer, it is your friend...

It's not having to, it's wanting to. This is my first system and I'm tweaking and learning. If I wanted a turnkey solution I would've just paid someone and gotten it over with. So yeah, you only care about having yours work, I want to tinker and learn a bit with mine. Whatever else you do with your time I'd probably also consider a waste of time for myself, so to each their own. I built mine myself and installed it myself... I did a lot of research BEFORE I bought it so I wouldn't buy to small... But I bought what I thought would work the best for me and would do what I expected.. I seen the smaller systems that you had to tinker with to make them work right... But they weren't for me... Glad you like your system and hope it works out for you...

Renogy doesn't come on here... Unless Bird can help you or a couple of others I suggest you call Renogy.... They might be able to help you... He was able to get it working with a modified version of my instructions. His point was,,,, to paraphrase; why should we have to go through all that trouble in the first place? Wayne Sallee Wayne@WayneSallee.com Got ya... I guess if you were to buy a bigger CC you wouldn't have to... But I understand it really doesn't make sense...

well it didn't all happen for me with the same port numbers you had (i used 4, as thats what it wouldnt change from in "port configuration" and named my station "1"). BUT, you were super on point with your steps. thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for me, it was all about 1. changing my COM# in device manager to what it had in "port configuration" 2. while in "port configuration", adding the port that it wouldnt change from. 3. addding a station to that port, under 'station explorer'. 4. assigning 242 as the device ID under Parameter->device parameter Renogy...what gives?? Renogy doesn't come on here... Unless Bird can help you or a couple of others I suggest you call Renogy.... They might be able to help you...

Does it make your system run better or does it just make you feel better?? Both. Which is well worth the time in both cases. LOL Well I guess you should have bought a better system to start with.... But I'm glad it makes you feel better.... I like not having to think about mine... I have much better things to do with my time..... KISS
